Life is hard

Lately I've been feeling like I'm failing as a mother. I'm providing for you, supporting you in the best way possible, and loving you every single day. However, in the past six months we have been put through the wringer by a few people who lack any sense of integrity whatsoever.

For that, I am sorry. I am the one who brought them into your life and it is my job to protect you from people like that. I know that it is difficult learning that some people cannot be trusted at such an early age and I thank you for being merciful with me and not flipping out on me over this.

I want you to learn from this that it is okay to draw boundaries and tell people no. I don't want you to learn that you shouldn't trust anybody. There are amazing people out there who will add to your life every single day. Don't allow the few assholes to get in the way of what is great.
